The Meliorist is produced and distributed on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region in southern Alberta.
We respectfully acknowledge the original and enduring stewards of this land: including the Blackfoot Confederacy—Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai—as well as the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations. We honour their ways of knowing, being, and caring for the land, which continue to guide relationships to this place today.
Lethbridge is also home to a vibrant Métis community, represented by Region III of the Métis Nation of Alberta.
We recognize and celebrate the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures within our university community, including these nations and other Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island who bring diverse histories, perspectives, and knowledge systems to our shared spaces of learning and engagement.
