The Meliorist Publishing Society is now accepting applications for Fall 2026 Applied Studies placements. These experiential learning opportunities allow University of Lethbridge students to gain meaningful professional experience while earning academic credit through the Applied Studies program.
Students can apply for the following positions:
- Reporter/Writer (Applied Studies)
- Section Editor (Applied Studies)
- Social Media Coordinator (Applied Studies)
- Historical Research Assistant (Applied Studies)
Each placement provides students with the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a professional environment while developing practical skills, building a portfolio of work, and contributing to one of Canada’s longest-running independent student publications.
Successful applicants who complete their placement will receive an honorarium equal to the tuition cost of their Applied Studies course, helping reduce financial barriers to experiential learning while recognizing the valuable contributions they make throughout the placement.
These opportunities are open to students from a wide range of disciplines, with each position offering unique experiences in writing, editing, communications, digital media, historical research, publishing, and nonprofit operations.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and positions may be filled before the closing date. Interested students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
