Southern Alberta’s largest celebration of multiculturalism is returning to Henderson Lake Park this summer.
The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association (SAEA) will host the 2026 Heritage Day Festival on Monday, Aug. 3, inviting the community to enjoy a full day of cultural performances, international cuisine, live music, and family-friendly activities.
Running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the free event celebrates the cultures, traditions, and histories that make Southern Alberta one of Canada’s most diverse regions.
A Celebration of Culture
Festival-goers can experience a variety of live cultural performances throughout the day, including traditional dance, music, and song presented by SAEA member groups and local community performers. A diverse lineup of live musicians will also perform across the festival, offering entertainment that reflects cultures from around the world.
Food from Around the World
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample authentic international cuisine from a variety of food trucks and vendors, showcasing flavours and culinary traditions from across the globe.
Activities for All Ages
In addition to live entertainment, attendees can explore interactive cultural exhibits, demonstrations, and displays designed to highlight the customs and heritage of communities throughout Southern Alberta.
Families can also enjoy children’s activities and hands-on experiences, while adults can relax in the festival’s licensed beer garden.

Hosted annually by the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association, the Heritage Day Festival brings together residents and visitors to celebrate multiculturalism, strengthen community connections, and promote greater understanding between cultures.
SAEA serves as a multicultural hub for inclusion, connection, and partnership, offering programs and events throughout the year that celebrate the cultural diversity of Southern Alberta.
