We would like to acknowledge all of the dialogue that’s been happening around our election coverage. We’re really grateful to everyone sharing their opinions and feedback, and we’d love to continue having productive conversations. If you’d like to speak with our editors directly, please contact our Editor-in-Chief, Sorcha DeHeer, at eic@themeliorist.ca. This is a student-run publication and we are excited to keep working with and for you.

We want people to be informed before they vote for the election, so we have compiled a list of places where you can hear more about the election, aside from our supplement. We have a very small editorial team, so we were only able to interview the executive council, but it’s important to be informed about all of the candidates running for other positions, such as ORS and Faculty Representatives.

We encourage everyone to check out the ULSU election coverage and would like to provide some links as to where you can access that information:

The debates and town halls are over, but you can rewatch them on Facebook at the following links:

Executive Council Town Hall, February 23: https://fb.watch/3ZkSRMcKFX/

General Assembly Town Hall, February 24: https://fb.watch/3ZkQHDaWNB/

Executive Council Debate, February 25: https://fb.watch/3ZkOLmu3hn/

More information on the election can be found on the ULSU Facebook Page or the ULSU Instagram. For Organization of Residence Students’ related election coverage, the ORS has its own Instagram that contains links to the various candidate’s online presences.

In addition to this, many of the candidates set up their own social media presences to run their campaigns, where they have done things like Instagram Live videos and social media posts to discuss their positions and platforms. We encourage you to seek out those online presences if you are interested in hearing more from each candidate.
