Dr. John Corvino, a philosophy professor from Michigan, spoke last week at the University of Lethbridge as part of the Gay and Lesbian Integrity Association’s (GALIA) OUTspoken events.
Corvino dispelled several arguments that equate homosexuality with immorality and showed how many religious and sociological arguments against homosexuality can be untrue and irrational.

Citizenship and immigration minister Jason Kenney backpedaled last week amidst public pressure and promised to reinstate references to gay rights in Canada’s new citizenship guide for landed immigrants.
Earlier this month, a Canadian Press report confirmed that Kenney’s office ordered government bureaucrats to remove passages in the citizenship guide that spoke of same-sex marriage legalization in 2005, and the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1969.
Kenney, a Conservative MP from Calgary, has been a vocal opponent of gay rights throughout his political career.
