Soccer update: Men and Women score first points of 2011

Women
The women fought hard for their 1-1 tie with the visiting Fraser Valley Cascades. Coming off the team’s fifth consecutive loss, the Horns took their first lead of the season, but were not able to hold on in the second half to earn the victory.
The Horns will head out on the road next weekend, traveling to British Columbia to face the Cascades again before closing out the trip with a game against the Victoria Vikes.

It must be rugby season!

The no. 4 Lethbridge Pronghorns shut out the UBC Thunderbirds 33-0 to open the 2011 Canada West women’s rugby season in Vancouver.  The Pronghorns controlled the ball for most of the match and opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Lethbridge moved the ball out of a scrum in the UBC half of the field and quickly got it to Kayla Moleschi who then passed the ball to winger Paula Woynarowsky who ran down the left side to score.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has continued to establish itself in the lower Manhattan cityscape over the last two
weeks. They are readily becoming a fixture in NYC’s financial district, and they have vowed to stay a month or longer,
